K. Fixed the comments function-- now you guys can talk back!!
Well, I finally got the skins for the site to work-- minus one important option in AOL: the images. Heh. Off I go to find some help...
Yay!! Got the images working!!!!
Uploaded a new skin for the site called "Talk To The Hand". Y'all go check it out.
Just found this expanded BlogShares Plugin for MT-- now you can see the status of SB on the BlogShares market on my sidebar!
This is my new blogchalk:
United States, Maryland, Washington, DC and SIlver Spring, English, French, Sassy, Female, 26-30, music, gardening, clarinet, cats, teaching. :)
Had a Blogroll cleaning party. To those of you that are gone, I just don't have the time to read everybody-- sorry!!!!!! :P And to those of you that remain, I'll make the time.
Decided that SassyB could use a new look. Enjoy!
(Oh the things you can accomplish while waiting for self-tanner to dry...)
Last night I added AllConsuming's reading list script to the column... hmmmm... thinking I'm going to have to go for a two column layout...
Great script and great site though-- avid readers should check it out-- it's a neat way to keep track of your reading habits.
Just a reminder to readers-- please feel free to comment on my entries, but remember that I filter my comments because of spammers. All legitimate comments will be approved, whether I like what you have to say or not. Free speech, right? Later dudes...
Methinks I may consider a change of blogware venue in the near future. MT's new licensing system pretty much bites, and I'm liking what I see of WordPress. Hmmm...
This is a my blog. The opinions expressed here represent my own and not those of my employers. This blog does not represent the thoughts, intentions, plans or strategies of any of my employers. It is solely my opinion. In addition, the views and opinions expressed here represent my own and not those of the people, institutions or organizations that I may or may not be related with unless stated explicitly.
My thoughts and opinions change from time to time as I come to learn more and develop my understanding about the things I'm blogging about. Such changes in opinions and thoughts are normal and should not be grounds for personal attacks.
My blog includes links to other sites/blogs operated by other people. These are provided as a means of convenient access or entertainment to you for the information or opinions they contain. I am in no way responsible for the content of any other sites or any products or services that may be offered through other sites.
Comments and commenters are welcome. However, please be aware that tasteless, insulting, and off-topic comments will probably be removed unless I find them funny. Any personal remarks and attacks will be removed. Any comments that even sort of look like link spam or marketing messages will be deleted and the offending IP will be banned. If you are an asshat just looking for an argument for no good reason you will also be deleted and then banned. If you are new to this site and comment in order to only promote your own site, your comment will probably be edited. Comments which fall in any of the above categories will be moderated at my discretion. I am not responsible for the content in comments other than those made by me, or in blogs or other online content that I may link to.
So there.
Just reloaded my entries with closed comments and trackbacks. I'll be moving this site to a new address shortly... I'll let you know when I get there and done. :)
Well, the photolog is incorporated again... the site will be being upgraded soon so that all the skins show the thumbnails. Yay!
Cleaned up my skeevy BlogRoll tonight. Deleted some, added others. If you got bumped, sorries. If you're in, YAY!
And now, sleepytime and dreams of Stargate episodes missed. (I so need a Tivo. Drat.) 'Night!
Happy Blogiversary to me! Four years. Oy.
... I haven't fallen off the face of the Earth. Really.
I just took the much-procrastinated opportunity to move over to a new server and update MT in the process. Seriously, it was nerve-wracking for an armchair blogger like me. So if the site looks a little weird for a few days, I'm still working on the skin of the thing, so just ignore it and click around. Y'all will all be happy to note that you can now comment without giving me your firstborn (hooray for the Comment Challenge plugin). Back to the salt mines... note the time stamp... OY.
For a while now, I've been reading a lot of entries by people who have had problems with getting Dooced or outed or embarrassed or yelled at over the things they have to say on their blogs. It's made me more than a little nervous about what I have to say on some of the subjects I talk about a lot, so therefore I'll be password protecting the entries that I feel are a little sensitive or personal.
I fully realize that there are a lot of you who read, comment, and lurk who are encouraged and entitled to read this stuff, so if you come across something you can't see but would like to read, email me at (sassy{at}sassyblonde{dot}net) with SassyPassword in the subject line for the password. I mean it now-- if you're a regular reader, email and ask already. I know most of you well through your own blogs, and you're entitled.
If I don't know or read you, just because you ask doesn't mean I'll fork it over, but feel free to ask. Nothing personal if I don't. It just cuts down on the possibility that I'll get goosed and ensures that you get unvarnished and uninhibited sassiness. Thanks for your patience.
And... we're back. Sorry if you tried to get here yesterday and got a blank page-- our hosting company was relocating its servers, so we were out of pocket all day.
It's amazing how much not having access to my websites made me crazy yesterday. After a while, I tend to forget what an outlet this is for me to rant, rave, or share. (Love you guys, really.) I kept thinking of all of the things I wanted to write about and couldn't (well, I suppose there's MSWord, but it's just not the same.) And frankly, it just made me sad.
Not that that takes much these days. I'm kind of channeling Strong Sad I think, except for the being pummeled and the talking to trees and walls and stuff. But more about that later.
At any rate, hopefully that'll be the last big outage since they're all relocated and snug in their new digs. Here's hoping.
Yet again, sorry for the downtime yesterday. The Hosting Company From Hell once again consigned all my sites to whatever circle of hell a downed server sends them to. Really, really thinking about moving to a different host.
In other news, three guesses who's going to see The Police tonight... Of course, if I can see the stage, pictures will follow.
So here's the thing:
I've missed you guys.
I've had some pretty heavy things going on in my life this year, things which basically have changed the face of my entire existence in one way or another. And I haven't really felt comfortable talking about that here, in public, for anyone and everyone to read. More importantly, there are very good reasons why I can't and shouldn't.
And frankly, it's killing me.
Because if you're still reading this, then I've probably known you, or had you as a reader, for long enough that you're probably wondering what the hell happened to me.
Because if you're still reading this, you're probably one of the people whose opinions and love I value enough that I'm going to need your help in the next year.
Because frankly, I need an outlet more in-depth than Twitter and less personal than Facebook.
So here's the other thing:
On March 1st, this blog is getting a makeover. I'll be moving it to a new server, shaking up the layout a little, and converting it to a new CMS, though the site address won't change. The ranting and raving and silliness will stay the same, only there will be some things that I don't want to share with everybody, some things that I may need to share and say, but only within certain circles. I'm tired of keeping it all pent up and I've done that for long enough.
If you're still reading this blog, and you're been a loyal reader or friend or even a long-time lurker, email me at (sassy{at}sassyblonde{dot}net) with the title of this post in the subject line or comment on this post and request an access key. I'd love to have you in the circle.
Til then, I'll be cleaning house and doing some renovation, and I'll see you on March 1st.
UPDATE: So, snow and circumstances being what they've been around here, I'm going to have to ask you guys to wait around a little longer, which actually ends up being appropriate for a lot of reasons. I've gotten all your emails and comments, and if you can hang tight for a few more weeks, I'll have the next phase ready on April 1st.
