It's that time again-- the day for starting over and doing better, so here are my goals for the year. (For reference purposes, see this and last year's list) It's a little shorter than last year's, but it has more punch this year I think. Also, it's about as long as I have energy for and about as much as I think I can realistically take on, so here goes:
- Learn to improvise.
- Give that contractor a call and play for him finally. (Seriously. Like, yesterday. Enough already.)
- Pay off my new flute.
- Practice flute every day as much as possible.
- Write daily, either here or on SOMETHING.
- Pay off the remaining credit cards.
- Live out of the fridge, not the takeout box.
- Eat no food from places with a drive-thru-- no McDonald's, Wendy's, KFC, Taco Bell, Burger King, Arby's or anything of the same ilk. (Exception being Chick-Fil-A, and only then less than once a month or so.)
- Save more money.
- Lose some weight. (It's a big number, I'm not quoting it here but it's a definable goal.)
- Go to the gym five times a week
- Keep my A1C down below 7.0
- Keep the house clean myself. (Because I can't afford to hire a maid.)
- Do more relaxing things.
- Keep my desk clean.
- Keep my reed table clean and actually use it.
- Keep my websites updated.
- Finish my home projects and knitting projects.
- Fold the laundry and put it away immediately.
- Go to at least one college football game, Alabama or Maryland.
- Get 8 hours of sleep whenever I can.
- Read more books.
- Be a more involved teacher.
- Mind my garden better.
- Be nicer to the people who matter.

I like #25... it's not an all-around resolution, just to those who deserve it. And for some of us that's probably a day-to-day thing ;)
