Thirty Resolutions: 2009 Edition

It's that time again-- the day for starting over and doing better, so here are my goals for the year. (For reference purposes, see this and last year's list) It's a little shorter than last year's, but it has more punch this year I think. Also, it's about as long as I have energy for and about as much as I think I can realistically take on, so here goes:

  1. Learn to improvise.
  2. Give that contractor a call and play for him finally. (Seriously. Like, yesterday. Enough already.)
  3. Pay off my new flute.
  4. Practice flute every day as much as possible.
  5. Write daily, either here or on SOMETHING.
  6. Pay off the remaining credit cards.
  7. Live out of the fridge, not the takeout box.
  8. Eat no food from places with a drive-thru-- no McDonald's, Wendy's, KFC, Taco Bell, Burger King, Arby's or anything of the same ilk. (Exception being Chick-Fil-A, and only then less than once a month or so.)
  9. Save more money.
  10. Lose some weight. (It's a big number, I'm not quoting it here but it's a definable goal.)
  11. Go to the gym five times a week
  12. Keep my A1C down below 7.0
  13. Keep the house clean myself. (Because I can't afford to hire a maid.)
  14. Do more relaxing things.
  15. Keep my desk clean.
  16. Keep my reed table clean and actually use it.
  17. Keep my websites updated.
  18. Finish my home projects and knitting projects.
  19. Fold the laundry and put it away immediately.
  20. Go to at least one college football game, Alabama or Maryland.
  21. Get 8 hours of sleep whenever I can.
  22. Read more books.
  23. Be a more involved teacher.
  24. Mind my garden better.
  25. Be nicer to the people who matter.

I like #25... it's not an all-around resolution, just to those who deserve it. And for some of us that's probably a day-to-day thing ;)
