I'd like to announce a new arrival at our house-- I'm now the proud owner of a beautiful new (old) flute!!!! It came to me in an auction yesterday and I'm so excited I just had to share! It's a gorgeous J.C. Haynes Boehm system wood flute, and it plays like a dream, or at least it will once I get a few pads replaced. For a flute probably made in 1894, it's pretty well-kept, eh? Lovely, lovely, happy birthday to me!
