So-- funny teaching story from today. As I was driving up to my student's house today, I happened to look up across their extensive lawn to the house and noticed that their upstairs windows had the curtains pulled back.
Now, those of you that know me have heard about this kid's dad-- every time I come to teach and he's there, he answers the door in is workout shorts-- that's all. NOT THAT I MIND. (Other than the fact that I'm friends with his wife and I'm very married myself. ) He's a hunk of an older man, but still-- a little too close for comfort, if you know what I mean.
Anywway, back to my story...
So as I'm glancing out my car window at their house, I nearly wreck my car (which at this point really doesn't need this on top of yesterday)-- there's Daddy Dearest in the window buck-ass-naked. How do I know, you ask, from such a distance? There's a difference between flesh-colored shorts and, well, the altogether, in the nether regions-- namely a VERY VISIBLE PACKAGE.
I could have died right there-- that was more than I ever needed to know-- but when I came in to teach the kid's lesson it got even better-- his Mom came slinking downstairs after about five minutes of my wondering what all that noise was up there (not really, but you get the idea), and she was wearing the largest most androgynous and cumbersome sweater I've ever seen, and blushing.
I love my job sometimes. Damn that's funny.
